Building a Lasting Legacy

In its 10 years of existence, the Great Rivers Greenway District has built about 90 miles of off-street trails and 80 miles of on-street bicycle lanes in the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County and St. Charles County. It has purchased and preserved more than 1,400 acres of green space lining our treasured waterways.

Great Rivers Greenway is improving the quality of life for our residents by creating a natural amenity available to everyone. It will be a lasting legacy for tomorrow’s children, improving their health and well-being and fostering a way of life that is meaningful and significant. Together, greenway developers and greenway users are showing the nation a new kind of St. Louis — a place worth visiting and living.
