St. Louis Cardinals and GRG Initiate “Bike to Busch” to Kick Off National Bike Month
Bicyclists will get discount game tickets, free admission to a pre-game
TrailGate party, secure bicycle valet parking and lots of special
in-stadium recognition just for riding to St. Louis Cardinals afternoon
games at Busc Stadium on Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, Sept. 19.

GRG Welcomes New Executive Director, Susan Trautman
Susan Trautman, a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP),
joined GRG as Executive Director on March 1. An accomplished leader who
has received numerous honors and recognition for her career
accomplishments, she brings great energy and extraordinary skills to the
leadership of GRG. Susan succeeds David Fisher who retired earlier this
year after serving as GRG’s first Executive Director since 2001.

GRG Celebrates Green-Living at Eco Expo and Earth Day Events
GRG is excited to participate in two special events in April -- the
second annual Eco Expo, St. Louis’ premier green-living event, and St.
Louis Earth Day, the oldest and largest Earth Day celebration in
Midwest. GRG shared a booth with Metro East Parks and Recreation
District (MEPRD) at Eco Expo on April 10-11. Staff members will be
available at the GRG booth at Earth Day to answer questions and share
information about the array of greenways, parks and trails built by GRG
across the region. In addition, GRG will ask the public to share their
ideas about greenways as a way of gathering information useful for the
regional plan.

Specially Adapted Cycles Available for Active Seniors and People with Disabilities
People who need extra stability or have other physical disabilities can
still enjoy cycling on the KATY Trail and Forest Park bike paths thanks
to the Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis, which has teamed up with
local bike rental shops and organizations to provide specially
designed, adapted cycles.

GRG Moves to New Offices in Delmar Loop Historic District and Announces New URL: www.grgstl.org
GRG moved in late March from St. Louis Union Station to 6174A Delmar
Blvd., in the Delmar Loop Historic District just east of the
intersection of Delmar and Skinker Boulevards. Located in a renovated
and restored building across from the Pageant Theatre, the new space is
more than 1,100 sq. ft. larger, with a more efficient floorplan, a
boardroom that can easily accommodate spectators and includes parking.
